I have been fascinated with photography since 8th grade, when one of my teachers formed a photo club and encouraged us all to submit our pictures for a local photo contest. My picture of a sunset in my neighborhood with my instamatic camera was awarded honorable mention. I suspect almost everyone received an honorable mention, but I was hooked. I had a chance to use an SLR for the first time in high school, when a local professional photographer by the name of Ted Offret taught a photo class at our school. Ted was exceedingly generous with his time, his knowledge, and even his equipment! He died tragically in an automobile accident before I ever had a chance to thank him. Thanks Ted!

I must say, however, that digital photography and all its possibilities has allowed me to enjoy and explore photography in ways that film never could. I hope you enjoy my site.
